Paevey EVH Wolfgang®

Edward considers the Wolfgang the natural evolution of the Ernie Ball/Music Man guitar.

"It's what I would've done had I stayed with Music Man. That would've been the next step," suggests Ed. "The angle of the neck is better, it's balanced better, it's got an arched top, and it's got the D-Tuner," he points out. Ed, in fact, owns the patent to the unique D-tuner. (The "D-Tuna" d-tuner allows you to drop the low E string to a D with the flick of a switch without unclamping the trems nut lock.)

"There are three things that are very different about the Wolfgang. Number one it's got an arched top, which is more difficult and more expensive to make. And that's the beauty of Peavey. It's a solid American-made product, and it's right up there with the top-of-the- line guitars.

Second of all, it has a patented D-Tuner, which is a little cylinder that slides over the low-E-string screw and enables you to drop the low-E down to a D. It's very ingenious, and it stays in tune wonderfully. And number three, the neck angle is slightly different because of the arched top. The neck is slightly angled back, so it's more comfortable to play."
